Dear RatAlert community,
it is with a heavy heart that we announce the sun setting of RatAlert. As you know, our NFT game launched in May 2022 with high hopes and expectations.
We poured our hearts and souls into developing the game, investing over $100k of fully private funding and dedicating more than 6 months of hard work to bring it to life. Despite our best efforts, RatAlert was not a commercial success and we were never able to recoup our costs.
In order to reduce our running costs, we have made the difficult decision to shut down the Discord bot. However, we want to take this moment to reflect on the journey we’ve been on together. We are proud of what we accomplished and the community we built. We have seen incredible passion and dedication from our players, and we are grateful for your support throughout the life of the game.
Although RatAlert will no longer be actively maintained or developed by the core team, we want to let you know that we have changed the hosting to GitHub https://github.com/ratalert so the game will continue to run just fine. After all, RatAlert was a community project from day 1.
We would like to invite everyone to take over the game if they like. For this reason, we have:
- Open sourced the game under the AGPL license and deployed it on GitHub Pages https://github.com/ratalert/ratalert.github.io
- Open sourced the smart contracts on GitHub https://github.com/ratalert/ratalert-contracts
- Open sourced the user interface https://github.com/ratalert/ratalert-ui
- Implemented the RatAlert DAO on Tally https://www.tally.xyz/gov/ratalert where changes can be introduced and voted upon by the community
